I’ve just spent a whirlwind week at High Point Market Spring 2015 reviewing the new furniture and home decor product lines. Incase you didn’t know High Point, NC is the furniture center of the world. It has 11.5 Million Square Feet of furnishing during market. Buyers, designers, press and everyone important in the home furnishings industry will come from around the world to descend on this small southern town to purchase the furniture, home accessories and determine the trends you will see in media and choose for your homes.
My week was wonderfully exciting and totally exhausting visiting showrooms in search of the beautiful. I logged almost 20 miles of walking on my fitness tracker. Now that I’ve caught my breath I’m looking forward to hearing what you think of my Best of Market picks. Remember, some of my selections are for “art” sake.
I’ll cover the important trends more in-depth later. For now, I hope you’ll enjoy seeing the beauty of what’s down the road before you see these trends in any magazine or store.
There were many trends at market but a common theme I saw across categories was what I’m calling: Femininity.
– Our curves were celebrated in furniture and accessories
– Our love for jewelry and jewel tones
– Girlish glamour in embellishments and patterns
– A mixing of soft paired with an edge, just like a women’s body and attitude.
See if you notice it now. Here’s a look at my Best of Market.
